Required Skills & Experience

• Understanding of the overall PeopleSoft architecture, including the database, application server, web server, and process scheduler.

• Proficiency in database management systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.

• Ability to perform tasks such as database backups, restores, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with operating systems such as Unix, Linux, and Windows.

• Knowledge of system administration and shell scripting.

• Expertise in PeopleTools, the proprietary development environment for PeopleSoft applications.

• Knowledge of PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and other PeopleTools components.

• Skills in monitoring system performance and tuning PeopleSoft applications for optimal performance.

• Use of monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, and PeopleSoft Performance Monitor.

• Management of application and web servers, including WebLogic, Tuxedo, and WebSphere.

• Understanding of load balancing, clustering, and failover techniques.

• Implementation of security measures, including user access control, roles, permissions, and encryption.

• Experience with applying patches, fixes, and upgrades to PeopleSoft applications and tools.

• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM).

• Knowledge of integration techniques and tools, including REST/SOAP web services, and SFTP.

• Familiarity with integration middleware like Oracle SOA Suite.

• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Ability to analyze system logs, performance data, and other information to make informed decisions.

• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest PeopleSoft releases, features, and industry trends.

What You Will Be Doing

• Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within Systems Operations Engineering.

• Review and analyze basic or tactical Systems Operations Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.

• Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

• Provide information to client personnel in Systems Operations Engineering.
