Job Title: Regional Manager

The Regional Manager reviews the project proposals or plans to determine the time frame, funding limitations,

procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to

various phases of a project.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Establishes work plans for large complex projects, arranges staff for each phase of the project, andarranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

  • Develops/implements project plans/methodologies for large and complex projects; assists withcoordination on multi-disciplined projects to improve communication collaboration and efficientexecution.

  • Builds and maintains an effective operations organization committed to customer and employeesatisfaction and profitable growth.

  • Builds relationships to ensure customer satisfaction of general contractors, mechanical contractors,subcontractors, and end users.

  • Participate in bidding contracts for the development of the annual and longer-term budget by providing budgets, cash flows, and completion schedules which directly impact the earnings forecast.

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all operational activities to ensure profitable growth.

  • Manages revenue, gross margin, and cash flow to achieve monthly and annual business plans.

  • Monitors project status and controls job costs to maintain margins.

  • Oversees the supervision of all installation and retrofit work and personnel to ensure work is done in asafe and professional manner.

  • Ensures schedules are maintained and projects proceed in accordance with contract documents andcustomer expectations.

  • Determines resource needs (e.g., staffing, tools) and provides any corresponding documentation.

  • Manages or advises on hiring, training and development, allocation, and performance assessment ofpersonnel within area of responsibility.

  • Assists with training and development of operations personnel.

  • Engages other departments including sales, finance, procurement, and safety teams.

  • Ensures the proper implementation of all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes, and requirements and ensures compliance.

  • Advises and implements industry/field best practices to improve products and services.

  • Represents Asplundh in industry associations, professional organizations, and affiliations and developsrelationships with customers, contractors, and community leaders.

  • The function or duties of the position include protecting and maintaining the privacy of employeepersonnel records, including compensation information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a strong knowledge of field operations and business acumen

  • Proficiency in fostering professional development and adept management of personnel.

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills – ability to deconstruct problems.

  • Outstanding written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to cultivate strong relationships with clients at all levels across the organization and geographies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Office, and Access Database applications.

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.

  • Must be able to handle conflict professionally.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively.

Education & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a field-service-based business, with involvement in line clearance vegetation management, construction, contract management, engineering, or project management; management/supervisory experience is a plus.

  • A College Degree in Business, Engineering, or technical field is preferred. Significant industryexperience may be substituted for education.

License & Certifications:

  • Driver License Required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to all locations within the region and for storm work duties.

  • This role may entail occasional travel to regional sites, necessitating overnight stays as and when needed.

Safety:

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
