Engineer I, Automation - CR

Job Description:

Improve and automate processes related to material transportation, manufacturing procedures, packaging, or any other area where equipment and/or software development is needed. Job duties:

  • Implement optimal performance solutions and ensure smooth transitioning (pass down/handshake) for respective receiving team.

  • Improve automation implementations related to AGV, robotics, and semi automation of manufacturing processes.

  • Define and perform validation processes in compliance with MV protocols.

  • Modernization of material process flow for production and warehouses.

  • Ensure Automation implementations in compliance with OSHA and safety regulations (EHS MicroVention).

  • Implement continuous improvement processes related to material flows.

  • Ensure building facilities are aligned with Automation process implementation.

  • Ensure Automation process implementation is aligned with production floor specifications.

  • Develop and implement cost savings/avoidance projects.

  • Develop road maps for automation testing/implementation, considering interdisciplinary and multi-departmental teams involved.

  • Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or similar areas.

  2. Demonstrated basic knowledge of automation, logistical process flow, mechanical design, and programming.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Knowledge and understanding of basic coding (Ladder Logic, C+, Control on discreet time, LabVIEW, Java, and/or HTML).

  2. Prior experience in Manufacturing and or Automation processes.

  3. Strong market insight and resilience, good customer communication skills and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

  4. Track and communicate test results in a timely and effective manner.

  5. Ability to work with agile teams and understand end-to-end system functionality.

  6. Knowledge and/or experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts.

  7. Develop and design precise timeframes for solution implementations.

  8. Good organization and team communication skills.

  9. Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
