Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program

National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

Information Technology and Digital Graduate Rotations

Graduates in our IT & Digital team will take part in an 18-month exploration. Your first 6-months will be in the role outlined below and you will return to this role following two broadening 6-month placements designed to provide you a breadth of experience within your functional area and accelerate your progression at National Grid. These placements will provide you with the opportunity to solve complex problems and focus on growth that will transform the energy sector as we know it.

About the Position

National Grid is seeking an adaptable and results-oriented Associate Product Manager to drive the development and release of innovative features and services to answer our most pressing business needs.


* You will be embedded within a squad of a larger Product Team and work closely with Product Managers to make the right implementation trade-off decisions in getting your features and sub-features built and successfully launched while maintaining high quality.
* You will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Design, Engineering and Enterprise Business Units to identify when to gather feedback from users to drive more effective decision making.
* Working with the team, you will distil user feedback into an actionable understanding of user sentiment for your product area.
* You will clearly-articulate the goals of the current project, follow through with analysis post-launch, and understand how those results tie to the goals of the Product team.

What You'll Do

* Gather and distil user feedback to support continuous product discovery
* Work with strategic design to gain an understanding of user personas, pain points and journeys
* Clearly define feature specifications as part of a larger product
* Gather and manage product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and A/B testing
* Monitor and report on product KPIs
* Assist the Product Manager with the development of business cases and operating plans
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Business Management Marketing, Communications, Data Science, Statistics or related degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy
  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
It would be awesome if you had
  • Previous experience with software development
  • Previous experience with project management software (Example: JIRA, JIRA ALIGN, MICROSOFT PROJECT)
  • Previous experience with customer facing roles

Salary Range
Waltham, Massachusetts $83,000 - $97,000 a year

Albany or Syracuse, New York $73,000 - $86,000 a year


Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
