Ford Motor Company Launch Engineering Leader New Model Programs, North America in Allen Park, Michigan

In this position…

You will be responsible to deliver new model vehicle launches in the North American region on time, on cost and at the targeted quality levels. This is accomplished by managing the staffing, skill sets, and launch processes overseen by the New Model Program Teams.

What you'll do…

  • Assess New Model Program team member skill set and implement training plans as required for team members in your organization

  • Assure the Program Launch Teams have appropriate staffing and skills

  • Align process requirements and budgets to support Pre-Production Builds

  • Assure management of vehicle ordering and the Fleet Evaluation Processes

  • Confirm key processes are in place to manage the AIMs and WERs issues and drive team to ensure appropriate throughput is achieved

  • Guarantee appropriate part pedigree is in place to support the Pre-Production build and prove out

  • Assure there is transparency of issues and build progress and quality metrics are clearly reported and containment is put in place as required

  • Prepare and validate New Model Programs Weekly Assessment Reports are accurate and appropriate issues are escalated by the launch teams

  • Manage the Launch Budget in an appropriate manner, consistent with LQOS, and delivered to plan

  • Assure the launch teams comply with the Launch Quality Operation System (LQOS) guidelines and reporting

You'll have…

  • Undergraduate degree, in engineering preferred

  • New Model Launch Proficiency, including a working level knowledge of the processes by which New Model Programs launches vehicle programs (i.e. LQOS, GPDS, FPS, etc.)

  • Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Excellent cross-functional collaborator

  • Meticulous attention to detail and process oriented

Even better, you may have…

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Experience with WERS and AIM preferred

  • Frequent Travel is required

  • Excellent mentoring and leadership skills
