Position Titl e: Field Service Engineer

Hours : Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Salary : $130,218 / Year

Summary of Duties : Responsible for installation support, initial testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, customer training, mentoring and training colleagues, and modification of customer equipment and systems. Conduct on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of equipment and systems of a very complex nature. Perform startup and commissioning upgrades, preventative maintenance, training and emergency break fix. Lead the most complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls. Lead complex product and service training. Perform complex and technically demanding work within technical or paraprofessional area. Preempt potential problems and provide effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes. Independently seek solutions to complex and unusual problems before contacting others. Generate and submit reports covering all job activity. Guide the maintenance of very complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. Guide the review of very complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual guidance throughout task duration. Assume customer responsibilities, special tasks, and other duties assigned by the Project Manager. Ensure working conditions are safe at all times. Communicate with Siemens business units and customers to determine requirements and provide support and information to our customers. Conduct failure investigations and monitor customer complaints and concerns to ensure the customer receives a satisfactory solution. Have flexibility to work overtime based on workload and have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team. 90% travel to customer sites in the United States required. 10% international travel required.

Qualifications : The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering field and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered, as a Field Service Technician, or an acceptable alternate occupation.

The position requires experience with the following skills and technologies : Ten (10) years of experience with Sinamics Variable Frequency Drives (VFD): SM150, SL150, GM150, GL150, S150, S120, G120, and G130; Four (4) years of experience with Sinamics Variable Frequency Drives (VFD): GH150 and GH180; Ten (10) years of experience with budgeting. The position requires knowledge and experience in Starter, Tool Suite, Step 7, and TIA Portal. 90% travel to customer sites in the United States required. 10% International travel required.
