MEDICAREMD.COM Staff Database Engineer in AMERICAN FORK, Utah

This position will be remote within the United States.

Job Summary As a Staff Database Engineer will design and maintain highly complex databases, increase data storage capacity, and troubleshoot database functionality issues. They will also review database performance issues within the Dentrix Enterprise software application.

Due to contractual agreements with our customer(s), the person who fills this role is required to be a US Citizen and undergo additional background clearance requirements.

What You Will Do * Design, maintain, and enhance the performance of existing databases - highly complex and large * Design new database solutions that meet business requirements and data storage needs and participate in schema code reviews * Monitor databases to ensure optimal performance * Perform debugging on databases scripts and query optimizations to resolve conflicts * Create and maintain technical documentation related to database design, configuration, performance, and functionality for use by technical support teams * Adhere to best practices in securely storing, backing up, and archiving data * Implement and ensure databases follow established standards and demonstrate expert understanding of database development, administration, and warehousing * Stay up to data in best practices in database engineering * Mentor more junior database engineers in best practices of database development * Attend necessary meetings as part of the agile development process Travel/Physical Demands * Travel typically less than 10% * Office environment with no special physical demands required Qualifications

What You Will Have * 8+ years of related professional working experience * Extensive experience with MS SQL Server 2016 - 2022 * Hands on experience with a SQL Server monitoring tool * Expert knowledge of Structure Query Language (SQL) * Excellent knowledge of database development: data definition language, encryption, querying, normalization, transactions, indexing, and data manipulation * Excellent knowledge of database administration: dynamic management views, auditing, resource governor, clustering, always-on, replication, log shipping, monitoring, and performance tuning * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail * Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Excellent verbal and written communication Nice to Haves * Relevant certifications highly desired * Advanced knowledge of C#, JavaScript or Typescript * Advanced knowledge of database warehousing, data migration, and data architecture The posted range for this position is$110,000 - $160,000which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
