Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Manager Facilities Maintenance 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage employees and outside contractors to construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, infrastructure, and equipment via the following trades: carpentry/general maintenance, plumbing, HVAC mechanics, electricians, electronics technicians, equipment controls programming (BMS – Building management system), and remote monitoring systems. Manage and identify budgetary requirements to execute reoccurring services as well as one-time services to complete repairs.

  • Set priorities, perform workload forecasting and allocate resources necessary to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including renovations and rearrangements, while maintaining a positive variance on facilities budgets. Support corporate initiative- greenhouse gas reduction efforts focusing on energy efficient equipment replacement where necessary. Coordinate with EHSFP to ensure all aspects are considered and necessary training is complete/work is being performed in a safe manner. Collaborate with internal A/V Tech to coordinate upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of conference room A/V equipment. Coordinate with Security to ensure compliance while working within or around Secure/Closed areas. Provide necessary documentation detailing the scope of Closed area boundary penetrations prior to gaining customer approvals. Coordinate with Facilities manager to support facilities project responsibilities (area rearrangements/renovations/capital projects etc.) via in-house employees and/or outside contractors.

  • Utilizes Maintenance Connection computerized maintenance management system to schedule, track and report on infrastructure maintenance, service requests/work orders and trouble calls. Oversee and coordinate all new infrastructure/site equipment is added to the CAFM system and maintenance schedules are created.

  • Use building automation system and SCADA system to alert Facilities of utility emergencies, out of tolerance conditions and proactive responses of site systems.

  • Advanced level of understanding in a specialized field or general understanding of several diverse disciplines. Involves a broad grasp of involved practices and procedures.

  • Assignments are received in objective oriented terms. Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organizations objectives and schedules.

  • Frequent contact with equivalent level managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of Facilities experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of related experience within construction trades or facilities organizations in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience leading or managing teams/projects.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance (US Citizenship Required)

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Journeyman's license.

  • 5 years of leadership experience working operational or facilities maintenance management role.

  • Familiar with manufacturing facilities infrastructure.

  • Experience using maintenance tracking programs and/or other maintenance management systems.

Salary Range: $90,700 - $136,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
