Job Title: Shop Helper : Anoka, MN : $19 to $21 per hour

Job Description

Employees will start out in grinding, where they will hold a hand grinder to smooth out rough edges and polish the metal to a nice finish. They will also cross-train into basic fabrication where they will cut metal to length utilizing a tape measure, including brake press, spot welding, buffing, and racking for paint. Additionally, they will help out in other departments as needed, such as assembly, packaging, and paint.

Responsibilities

• Smooth out rough edges and polish metal using a hand grinder.

• Cross-train in basic fabrication, including cutting metal to length.

• Operate brake press, perform spot welding, and buff metal.

• Assist in racking metal for paint.

• Support other departments such as assembly, packaging, and paint.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude through previous work experience, school, or hobbies.

• Experience with sheet metal and grinding.

• Ability to read and measure using a tape measure and understand basic math.

• Experience working with hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months of manufacturing experience.

• Experience reading a tape measure.

• Hand and power tool experience.

• Shop classes such as welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.84 - $19.84/hr.
