Your job

Based in our Antwerp office, the HRBP team is part of the wider International Health team, so the Belgium HR team will also be involved in the wider scope of HR strategy and execution in line with the business needs and structure, in addition to local HR agenda.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the Belgium-based employees’ life cycle, as well as be involved in other International Health level HR initiatives. Cigna is a matrixed organization, some managers of Belgium employees are based outside of the Belgium and some Belgium Managers have people they manage in other countries around the world. Occasionally working outside the Belgium time zone is possible.

The HR Business Partner is responsible for the execution of the HR strategies, policies, guidelines, and programs for the HR specialty areas like engagement, compensations, benefits, performance management, employee relations, and other technical HR duties.

In this role you report to the Head of HR, Belgium and work closely with the business. The purpose of this role is to deliver a first level HR service to employees and line managers within Cigna Europe. This role will support the HR Leads, HRD and COE partners to ensure there is a strong focus on continuous improvement to drive customer service excellence aligned with the overall business and HR strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement HR programs and practices in line with legal requirements and Cigna’s policies.

  • Provide advice to employees and managers around interpretation of HR policies, career development performance management, absence management, HR systems etc.

  • Drive employees’ engagement through connecting the dots from daily interactions with employees, analysis from engagement surveys, exit interview feedback and propose action plans.

  • Execute Workday processes and guide our managers and employees in the same way.

  • Prepare HR related metrics and management reporting.

  • Collaborate and support on a range of employee relations matters and work effectively with stakeholders to recommend and resolve them and to mitigate organizational risks and protect retention and engagement levels. This includes identifying any performance issues and providing support with coaching and corrective actions as necessary.

  • Take care of internal HR communications (ad hoc communications as part of local initiatives, maintenance intranet etc).

  • Coach and support the business through effective change management practices to ensure the successful adoption and implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Involved in both local and international HR Projects as required by the business and the wider HR team.

Your profile

Experience

  • Between 6 years of experience in a role of HR business partner background with knowledge of employee relations, labour regulations, training, and development, preferably with experience operating in an international environment.

  • Experience in HR COE functions would be an advantage.

Skills

  • Strong Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in using HRIS e.g. Workday.

  • Ability to build trust and relationships quickly and partner with all levels of management.

  • Ability to demonstrate a “can-do “attitude with strong organizational skills.

  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality.

  • A strong team player within and across teams.

Languages

  • Fluent in written and verbal Dutch and English.
