Amazon Senior Program Manager, Ad Policy Communications, Advertising Trust, Policy Operations in Arlington, Virginia

This is your opportunity to own Amazon Advertising Policy’s communications strategy and operations (internal and external), ensuring that our stakeholders (internal and external) are well-informed on our policies and changes to our policies. You will take ownership of existing mechanisms and processes, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, and inventing new ways to broaden our reach, all while obsessing over customer's experience on Amazon by helping our Advertisers understand our policies and provide a trustworthy experience for customers.

The goal of the Advertising Trust team is threefold: 1) provide a best-in-class experience for advertisers, 2) protect customers from advertisements that do not comply with our Advertising Policies, and 3) provide clear guidance for advertisers to improve. You will own achieving these goals through communications, helping Advertisers better understand our policies, and helping teams internal to Amazon track and react to evolutions of our policies. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a number of projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The candidate will have experience developing communications across multiple formats. This individual should be a creative problem solver who is meticulous, customer-obsessed, and leads by example. They must also be willing to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done while insisting on the highest standards.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and operate existing policy change communications processes and mechanisms, seeking opportunities to scale, drive down policy publication times, and achieve operational excellence

  • Assess our communications strategy holistically, looking for opportunities to improve, streamline, and increase awareness visibility

  • Develop a content strategy and implement new tools and mechanisms for managing and organizing all policy-related content

  • Invent ways to measure the effectiveness of our communications strategy

  • Insist on high standards for policy; review policy content for accuracy, grammar, and style, coordinating with Legal/PR/Policy Managers as needed and seeking opportunities to improve policies

  • Partner with stakeholders (e.g., Support, Moderation) to streamline communications and look for efficiencies

  • Manage communications internally within AT Policy, increasing transparency and collaboration

  • Maintain and update rejection communications for use with external advertisers

As part of the Advertising Trust team, you will have high visibility across Amazon business lines, helping to establish the right customer experience and long-term strategy for the success of Amazon Advertising. We are a global and diverse team with a long tenure in online advertising and expertise in developing customer experience solutions for highly sensitive and restricted categories of advertising.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience of leadership communication with executive level audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in advertising policy or digital advertising

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
