Pratt & Whitney is constructing an Advanced Casting Foundry (ACF) within its Asheville, NC factory. The ACF Team is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who can assist with the production startup of airfoil finishing processes. The candidate must demonstrate technical project management, interpersonal and team skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements.
This Position is Onsite in Asheville.
What You Will Do:
Be part of a cross functional team charged with standing up an automated connected facility in Asheville.
Perform preliminary testing and on-site acceptance of new equipment at vendor, along with site acceptance and process development to release to production.
Lead development of production processes, work instructions, quality requirements, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and deploy standardized engineering practices, processes, tools, and methods.
Implement and execute engineering changes to meet customer and financial requirements.
Ensure MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) of new processes aligns to program requirements as hardware transitions from development to production launch.
Pursue operational excellence as subject matter expert for CNC and Robotic airfoil finishing and dimensional inspection processes; Drive product cost reduction and ensure targets are achieved through data driven process improvements and deployment of new technologies.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years experience in an aerospace, foundry, or machining manufacturing environment. or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Proficient with NX and CNC Programming.
Strong Project Engineering/Planning and Communication/Presentation skills are a must for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Six Sigma green belt or equivalent.
Master’s’ degree in Engineering or related technical field.
5 or more years of experience in environments of robotics, 5 axis CNC milling, and dimensional inspection.
Experience with airfoil manufacturing and investment casting processes.
Proficient with GD&T and Blueprint interpretation .
Proficient in Solumina and SAP.
Broad knowledge of the aerospace industry and experience in turbine airfoil parts manufacturing.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
