WestRock Company Demand Planning Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

The Demand Planning Analyst analyzes reported demand from several sources internal & external, including but not limited to statistical forecasts, market information, customer forecasts, historical trends and known new and lost business. This role will be responsible for crafting a demand plan that effectively characterizes future customer demand allowing for immediate production success, timely production to service customer needs, and limiting cost of variance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and align monthly demand for the 2 - 24-month horizon with assigned area of responsibility within the WestRock Consumer Packaging, Corrugated Packaging, and Global Paper commercial teams.

  • Facilitate a quarterly process with commercial teams to provide forecasts beyond 24 months (3-5 years) as input into the Long-Term Capacity Planning and Network Design processes

  • Works closely with the Demand Planning leadership to test, validate, and execute best practices for forecasting. Validates inputs, runs modeling scenarios, and proposes ways to improve metrics. Establishes relationship with cross-functional partners to gather timely data and inputs.

  • Supports team and departments priorities. Aligns demand plans with business leadership through monthly demand reviews as part of the integrated business planning processes.

  • Support the development of unified tools, systems, and processes aligned with WestRock IT roadmap and Path to One company strategy to unify planning processes across the organization.

  • Works with cross-functional team to ensure KPI targets are met.

  • Analyses forecasts, prepares reporting, measures KPIs, and communicates with cross-functional team to support the monthly unconstrained demand forecasting process. Collaborates with cross-functional partners on ad hoc analysis, follow-ups, or other forecasting related activities.

  • Works with cross-functional team to ensure KPI targets are met; establishes best practices with guidance of Demand Planning leadership teams.

Required Experiences:

  • Experience in supply chain planning, logistics, procurement, or engineering

  • Experience using Excel and Access; experience in advance planning systems (SAP, Blue Yonder, Logility, o9 is a plus).

  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis and statistics; knowledge of forecasting methodologies is preferred.

  • A demonstrated ability to apply analytic techniques to interpret data, identify issues, analyze causes, and provide well-reasoned conclusions and solutions.

  • Ability to build strong relationships, considering diverse perspectives & different styles.

  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all business function areas is required

Preferred skills: In depth knowledge of MRP; APICS CPIM certification.

Education

Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree specializing in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics or Operations is preferred.
