ABM Industries Event Setup Staff Porter in Atlanta, Georgia

Overview

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for Event Staff Porter. Full time event setup position available for an experienced individual in a high-level conference style environment. Must have at least 4 years of experience. Job duties include lifting and pushing tables and chairs into empty conference rooms in a timely manner to setup for daily meetings and luncheons, wiping down tables and chairs for guests, vacuuming and dusting. Must be available to work Mondy-Friday 4am-1pm, weekends off. Pay rate $16.20 to start. Must be highly professional and on time! Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available

• 4 years experience required and on the job training provided

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Customer service experience

• 4 year of similar work experience

Responsibilities:

  • Event Staff are a part of the Setup and Logistics team that provides event and logistics services for our client.

  • Setting up tables, chairs, meeting supplies and computer/iPad skills for work orders, etc.

  • S&L team members are responsible for the removal of event equipment, tables and chairs and assistance with “back of house” event functions for all internal events.

  • S&L employees must be able to act independently on event sites with limited supervision while maintaining a professional attitude.

  • Maintains their work area, which is often a business entrance, performing housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness and adhere to control and security policies.

  • Helps guests feel comfortable and gives a positive first impression.

  • Anticipates and responds to guests in a friendly and positive manner

  • Communicates clearly and professionally while interacting enthusiastically with guests and co-workers

  • Guests may sometimes be frustrated, confused, or angry, so it’s vital that the Event Staff Porter are able to remain calm, professional, and polite

  • Has knowledge of relevant products, policies and procedures

  • Works as a team player in meeting guest needs and actively contributing to the efforts of all other departments

  • Attends all required Department scheduled shifts, meetings and training sessions

  • Maintains a safe work area

  • Able to enact facility emergency procedures

  • Provides optimal levels of customer service wherever possible

  • Analyzes the customer’s requirements and help them find the best solution by directing them to the appropriate department.
