Job Summary

The Catering Pantry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the organization, inventory, and overall functionality of the catering pantry. This role ensures that all catering operations have the necessary supplies, equipment, and products to execute events successfully. The supervisor works closely with the culinary, operations, and sales teams to maintain efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Pantry Management & Inventory Control:

  • Maintain an organized and well-stocked catering pantry with all necessary supplies.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks and place orders to replenish stock as needed.

  • Monitor product usage and implement cost-control measures to reduce waste.

  • Ensure all perishable and non-perishable items are properly stored and labeled.

Receiving & Storing Deliveries:

  • Accept and inspect incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy, quality, and freshness of products.

  • Check deliveries against invoices and report discrepancies to management.

  • Properly store and rotate stock to maintain product integrity and reduce waste.

  • Ensure all storage areas meet health and safety regulations, including temperature control and proper labeling.

Event Preparation & Execution Support:

  • Coordinate with the catering operations team to ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are prepared for upcoming events.

  • Support the operations team in setting up and breaking down event stations when needed.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all pantry areas meet health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and sanitation practices.

  • Conduct routine checks for expired or damaged products and dispose of them appropriately.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, refrigerators, and workspaces.

Team Coordination & Training:

  • Work closely with the catering team to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Train staff on proper pantry organization, equipment handling, and safety procedures.

  • Communicate with the culinary and operations teams to address any pantry-related issues or needs.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report stock levels to management.

  • Support in creating and implementing standard operating procedures for pantry management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or inventory management preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to lift and transport catering equipment and supplies as needed.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment: ·

  • This role requires standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and working in kitchen and storage environments.

  • May involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
