Contribute to the development of new DRAM products by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of DRAM circuits. Perform circuit simulations using timing accurate Verilog (TAV) and SPICE simulator. Assist in design and development of schematics. Participate in new circuit conception and design execution. Work with process integration to set model performance targets. Execute and analyze device reliability verification. Interpret device specifications to produce required functionality. Oversee and manage the layout process. Manage floor planning process, including placement and routing optimization. Assist in standard cell development. Optimize design rules for cost, performance, and functionality. Define array blocks and pitch cells. Determine proper word line and bit line lengths. Choose appropriate transistor sizes and types for pitch cells for cell margin and performance. Manage verification processes. Perform circuit verification based on layout extracted netlists for required circuits. Extract and place parasitic models in simulation schematics. Assist in silicon validation, reticule experiments, and tape out revisions as needed. Maintain technical expertise and provide training. Aid in communicating best known practices to the entire design department. Prepare detailed documentation as required. Contribute to and participate in global design forums. Participate in continuing education and competitor analysis. Participate in recruiting and interviewing new candidates. Contribute to cross group communication to work towards standardization and group success. Collaborate with business unit, probe, assembly, test, process integration, CAD, and product engineering groups to ensure proper manufacturing ability of products. Proactively solicit input from various groups. (i.e. standard cell development, simulation voltages). May telecommute from home part-time.

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Semiconductor Design Engineer-related occupation.

Position also requires experience in:

1) Circuit characterization and simulations using industry standard tools;

2) Assisting design and development of circuit schematics;

3) Executing and analyzing circuit and device reliability verification;

4) Interpreting circuit and device performance targets to oversee and improve the layout process; and

5) Scrutinizing memory IP development process, including function verification, sanity check and design rule check.
