Job Description: Cayuga Centers is hiring immediately for a COOK/CLEANER Location: Auburn, NY Pay: $20.00 hourly - $24.00 hourly based on Relevant Experience Plus great benefits, including:

  • Union position with Union Benefits

  • Up to 4 weeks of vacation (with eligibility to cash out earned vacation time)

About the Program and Position: Cayuga Centers is actively seeking staff members for the Cook/Cleaner Position. This position is on our Maintenance & Housekeeping team that serves the administrative, site-based, home and community-based, and foster care program locations throughout our Upstate NY regions. We serve our programs by providing them with the facilities and space they need to work with children and families. This MAKES A DIFFERENCE - when our program staff have what they need to serve families, the quality of their care improves. The role you play in supporting the mission is imperative - providing timely maintenance, cleaning, and other support impacts the services offered and the well-being of children, youth, individuals, and families.   • Assist with cooking tasks as assigned

  • Perform regular and additional cleaning responsibilities

  • Maintain the attractive appearance of all agency buildings and grounds

  • Identify and report deficiencies and repairs

  • Present ideas for beautification and improvements needed for program and administrative space

Schedule:

  • Sunday - OFF

  • Monday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

  • Tuesday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

  • Wednesday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

  • Thursday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

  • Friday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

  • Saturday - OFF

Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma required

  • Detail-oriented - pays attention to details at each building location, with extra attention to any special requests

  • Friendly and professional - able to interact with other staff and those served when they are in the building while cleaning is being performed

  • Self-starter - able to identify work that needs to be done without being instructed to do so

  • Desire to learn, seek new challenges, and take on additional responsibilities

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle

  • Ability to be physically active such as walking, bending, kneeling, and twisting

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly

  • Ability to climb and operate ladders
