Position Summary: The Senior Manager leads US Market Access and Reimbursement efforts across LivaNova businesses for a defined region or assigned group of payer accounts. Position responsibilities pertain to key existing and new technologies in Neuromodulation, Cardiopulmonary and any ventures LivaNova may pursue. Given the complexity of the US healthcare payer system this role requires deep understanding and experience engaging commercial payers, Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, local MACs, and state Medicaid plans and supporting provider customers with billing and coding questions. The incumbent must have established relationships, demonstrated experience gaining positive and or expanded commercial payer policy coverage, improved Medicaid payment rates and education of providers on billing and coding. A major focus of this role involves supporting and educating providers on billing and coding as well as engaging private and public payers of healthcare in the US for comprehensive coverage and adequate payment of LivaNova technologies and procedures. This individual contributor role involves relationship development and payer account management with private and public payers, hospital administrators, physicians and surgeon providers, and state legislators. The incumbent will also work closely with field sales organizations to maximize access environments and conditions.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrated execution skills, ability to engage and support US commercial partners in sales and marketing, and high level of competence in reimbursement, health economics and coverage for medical devices in the US.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead advocacy efforts with commercial and governmental payers for a defined region or assigned payers on the coverage and payment adequacy of LivaNova associated procedures and technologies.
Advocate for optimal coverage policies for LivaNova products and procedures with commercial and government payers.
Advocate and lobby state Medicaid agencies and legislatures for improved procedure payment.
Collate and summarize existing clinical and economic evidence to support product positioning.
Monitor, analyze, and influence health care policy to ensure policy environment supports medical innovation.
Assess and communicate the coding, coverage and payment landscape.
Support the development of tools and messaging to advocate for comprehensive coverage and adequate payment rates, including, dossiers, budget impact models, reimbursement guides, etc.
Work closely and in alignment to US commerc al colleagues in sales and marketing.
Serves as an internal and external contact on matters related to field-based hospital reimbursement for LivaNova.
Communicate evidence requirements and reimbursement landscape to internal stakeholders.
Provide training and education programs on reimbursement best practices and health policy issues to internal stakeholders and provide training and education to the sales force, physicians, office administrators and hospital personnel.
