Robert Half Labor Relations Specialist in Aurora, Illinois

Description

We are seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to join our clients team in the construction sector, based in Naperville Illinois. This role involves managing the relationship between the company and Union members nationwide, with a focus on fringe benefits and labor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for Union members across the country regarding fringe benefits, including onboarding, pay structures, and training programs.

  • Assist new Union hires with paperwork completion and ADP system setup.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Union Business Agents and company leadership nationwide.

  • Collaborate with the Payroll Lead to ensure accurate administration of pay and benefits in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).

  • Support union payroll processes through reviews and approvals to ensure accuracy and compliance with labor agreements.

  • Address and resolve grievances in partnership with Union representatives and company officials.

  • Oversee union audits, compile necessary data, and present reports to company leadership.

  • Participate in labor relations projects, including policy administration, union agreements, and grievance resolution procedures.

    Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Labor Relations Specialist or in a similar role within the construction or contracting sector.

  • Proficient in managing employee benefits and ensuring compliance with labor laws and industry regulations.

  • Proven ability to address employee relations matters and effectively handle union grievances.

  • Expertise in labor relations strategies, including managing and interpreting union contracts.

  • Strong skills in generating, analyzing, and presenting union-related reports.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • Professional certification in labor relations or human resources is a plus.
