Humana is seeking an accomplished, customer obsessed and results oriented Lead Product Designer to manage and grow our digital presence in the marketplace. This role will be responsible for reimagining our plan shopping experiences from awareness to purchase, by finding value creation opportunities and driving innovative and sustainable product solutions through technology. S/he/they will champion a startup mindset and promote agile ways of working to design, develop and deliver differentiated experiences for our customers.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, product-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. S/he/they must be a strong communicator, comfortable working with internal stakeholders of all organizational levels.
At Humana, our Experience Transformation team is an experience-oriented, multi-disciplinary team that solves for customer needs while enabling strategic and operational goals. Joining our dedicated group of UX designers, researchers and writers focused on the consumer experience, you will be responsible for partnering closely across UX and with Product Management and Engineering leads to shape product and business strategies. You will drive prioritization, planning, and decision-making, and guide the design of exceptional and differentiated user-centered ecommerce experiences for individuals looking to purchase Medicare Advantage health plans. The team is focused on taking a test and learn approach to develop best practices in usability, analytics, accessibility, and cross-platform strategy in an Agile development environment.
The Lead Product Designer will manage 1-3 direct reports and must adeptly guide interdisciplinary teams throughout the entire design process, from initial research and strategy to ideation, prototyping, testing, and final implementation. The UX Design Lead need not excel in every aspect individually but ensure teams delivery high-quality outcomes through their guidance and oversight.
As a User Experience Design Lead, you will:
Take point in User Experience design, developing industry-leading, high-value web-based experiences to simplify the plan shopping experience.
Translate consumer insights into design strategies and execution that meet real user needs.
Serve as a primary point of contact with cross-functional partners in your workstream, ensuring alignment of UX deliverables.
Build trust and consensus with key stakeholders and varying senior leaders by utilizing storytelling, user journeys, prototypes, and other UX strategies to articulate complex concepts, customer problems, and potential solutions.
Create strategic design deliverables such as strategy decks, visions of future experiences and evangelize these strategies across different teams and workstreams.
Drive interdisciplinary conversations that aim to break down visions and strategies into actionable now, next, and later phases.
Develop and lead workshops aimed at discovering hypotheses, exploring potential solutions, building enthusiasm, establishing shared understanding, and promoting team alignment.
Ensure that digital principles, standards, styles, design patterns, and renderings are followed and represented correctly.
Partner with CX Insights to create long-term research strategies and facilitate ongoing discovery and iterative delivery.
Partner with Content Strategy to continuously drive and improve content, navigation, and site architecture.

Role Essentials
7+ years of experiences as a Product Designer, User Experience Designer, or Interaction Designer
Must submit an online portfolio that demonstrates the ability to create compelling consumer user experiences
Must illustrate competency in designing for complex ecommerce experiences
Strategically adept with a penchant for curiosity
In-depth knowledge of performance metrics
Experience designing with business, technical, and design guideline constraints
Ability to adapt existing processes and deliverables when necessary to meet project needs and improve efficiency and quality
Demonstrated ability to design complex transactional user interfaces and interactions
Experience creating conceptual models, site maps, interaction flows, design patterns, and design specifications
Demonstrated experience in defining research criteria, leading or participating in user research, and translating user research into design decisions
Strong track record of iterating and delivering digital products within agile team
Deep experience creating interactive prototypes
Mastery of Figma
Prior experience leading or mentoring other UX design professionals
Role Desirables
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience
Significant relevant work experience may substitute for an advanced degree
Experience creating inclusive and accessible designs, particularly for senior adults
Existing knowledge of Medicare insurance is a plus
Ability to be flexible in a fluid and dynamic environment
Must be extremely well-organized and capable of handling multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities effectively
Familiarity with online usability testing platforms such as UserTesting
Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Work-At-Home Information
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$104,000 - $143,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
