Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant role is a temporary to hire opportunity in SW, Austin, TX.Seeking candidates with 3-5 years of public or non-profit accounting experience.This accountant will oversee the financial and accounting processes, procedures, and reporting necessary to ensure costeffective, efficient, daytoday operations required to support the organization and its mission.

Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining payables, receivables, collection activities, and month

end balance sheet account reconciliations in conjunction with the accounting department team.

Assist in evaluating and improving internal controls and streamline processes and procedures around organization CMS and accounting software.

Assist in developing financial policies and procedures and ensure their continued adherence.

Assist in coordinating the annual financial statement audit with external auditors.

Ability to maintain effective internal and external departmental communications and public relations.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in accounting preferred.

3 -5 years experience working in either a non

profit industry or public accounting.

Experience with QuickBooks and Excel.

Experience working with a non

profit organization, membership organization, educational program, continuing education provider, or accreditor preferred.

Bilingual a plus but not required.

Intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
