Job Summary The Senior Marketing & Product Manager: Directs the activities of the marketing function: industry management and development, product management and pricing. Manages collaboration between marketing, technology, sales, operations and sourcing to deliver short and long-term growth programs. Leads the planning, development and communication of an effective strategic plan to ensure an increase in sales and profits. Can identify and translate market needs into top line growth & margin expansion. Manages Product Line life cycles and appropriate pricing practices to maximize profits. Ensures a consistent and effective technology innovation pipeline to support growth. Works cross regionally to support knowledge, technology and customer insight transfer with other Avient businesses. This individual is a thought leader who performs independently and has demonstrated the ability to effectively interact with customers and influence all functions within the business. The individual will manage a team of individuals responsible for profitably managing our focus industries, product lines and pricing. This individual will additionally lead cross-functional teams to review and act on day-to-day and strategic business opportunities within their region and will additional engage on global opportunities as needed. The skills required to be successful in this leadership role include, collaboration & influence in a matrixed organization, team development, marketing, strategic planning, pricing and product management, stage gate management, marketing communications tools, executive presence. Essential Functions Leads one's own team and cross-functional teams, and works cross regionally as needed in order to successfully research, develop, commercialize and promote new and existing products with a focus on sustainability in targeted industries. Directly manage, coach and develop industry marketing and development, product management and pricing team members to accomplish outlined goals Leads promotional efforts within region to include trade shows, marketing literature, website content and e-communication platforms Build and execute product and pricing strategy and collaborate with sales on commercial aspects of growth opportunities, while supporting other team members to do the same Engages directly with key accounts or other strategic customers to support new and existing business as needed. Ensures Material and Gross Margin goals are met based upon raw material, conversion costs and pricing management; engages cross functionally to do so. Works closely with sourcing and suppliers to review and drive innovation as well as cost, improvement actions based on raw material trends Key contributor to Strategic and Annual Plan development and execution Generates, monitors and improves the effectiveness of commercial reporting tools and processes Ensures proper data and opportunity management within SAP/Tableau/SFDC/Accolade. Publishes reports as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Finance or Technical discipline (chemistry or engineering preferred) MBA - preferred 10+ years of relevant job experience with demonstrated leadership, capabilities and impact on results, including 5 years minimum experience managing a team. Demonstrated team management and development Strategic and Annual Planning development and execution Qualifications Strong leadership skills paired with a high level of both written and verbal communication skills Able to deal effectively with ambiguity in a fast pace global environment Strong entrepreneurial orientation coupled with good business and financial acumen Excellent quantitative and business analytical skills High level of self-initiative, drive and willingness to learn and be challenged Ability to function effectively
