The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for a Supervisor, Systems Maintenance. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, operation, inspection, installation, testing, and repair of Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs), Fare Gates, Station Operator Computers (SOCs), and Fareboxes on the Metro, Light Rail, and Bus systems.
The Supervisor will assist and support in training union personnel, ensuring awareness and understanding of changes in fare collection equipment, systems technology, and operations. Additionally, this role will contribute to the development of new and improved maintenance techniques and directly supervise Electronic Technicians and “A” Repairmen.
This position is located in Baltimore City, Maryland.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from an accredited standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate AND satisfactory completion of a program in a formal vocational or trade school or other formal training in one or more of the following fields:
High voltage electrical power and related control systems.
Electronic communications systems.
Railroad signaling and train control systems.
Electronic fare collection systems.
Railcar electronic systems.
Other complex electro-mechanical or electrical systems.
Experience: Five (5) years of minimum experience in one or more of the fields listed above can be substituted for the required trade or vocational school . Experience must also include working with complex digital and analog circuitry.
SUBSTITUTION INFORMATION:
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations 49- Federal Department of Transportation Drug Alcohol Testing Protocols and Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules.
Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and will be required to provide the agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
Employees are required to maintain a reliable communication link (telephone or beeper) for the purpose of emergency call back requirements.
Employees may be required to work evenings, night shifts and weekends.
Employees in this classification are considered "Essential Employees" and will be required to adhere to all policies and procedures relating to "Essential Employee" status.
Licenses & Certifications
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
