Our Team, Publishing Systems

News UK is one of the United Kingdom’s largest news publishers, with significant print and digital operations across The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times, Dow Jones and Wireless group.

The Publishing Systems Team, based in London and Bangalore, are responsible for managing and enhancing Enterprise-level systems and applications across commercial, operations, editorial content creation and publishing, and print site manufacturing. NTS performs application integration development, test, and delivery for editorial publishing system Methode, and many more.

Requirements :

• 3 years to 5 years of experience on Application support.

• Good understanding of troubleshooting on Windows and Linux Platforms.

• Troubleshooting system performance problems.

• Fundamentals of Networking with knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols.

• Hands on experience on Linux, shell/Python scripting.

• Hands on experience on Tomcat, JBoss Configurations & Troubleshooting

• Good Knowledge on Application management/support.

• Knowledge of PHP and any databases(SQL/NoSQL).

• Understanding of the user authentication and AD.

• Willing to work on 24*7 rotational shifts.

• Strong Team Player, excellent communication skills, self motivated, flexible.

• Zabbix/New Relic or any relevant experience on any of the Application/server monitoring tools.

• ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing tool.

Essential Skills:

• Good knowledge and hands on experience on AWS.

• ITIL certification or other service management framework experience, including working with ITIL based Service processes and functions such as Change, Incident, Problem, Event and Transition.

• Able to work in a fast paced environment.

• Able to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, motivation, as well as excellent problem solving capability.

• Strong time and task management skills

• Good communication and report writing skills

Good to have skills:

• Good Knowledge on Application management/support.

• Understanding of enterprise architecture, system availability and disaster recovery

• Exposure towards working with Publishing Systems applications - Implementation, crossover integration.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt latest softwares in the project procured.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Respond to, and satisfactorily resolve any escalated customer issues or concerns.

Work successfully with on and off shore team members to provide the best overall working structure .
