Located 16 miles south west of Chicago, Bedford Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 580 at the 2010 census. Bedford Park consists of a small residential area and vast amounts of heavy industry sprawling to the east and a small amount to the west.

Responsibilities
Position Overview
Design products, prototype molds, and fixturing components and assemblies using 3D CAD software for industrial thermoforming
processes in the foodservice industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Designer/Drafter is responsible for creating and documenting new product and prototype tool designs according to the current
manufacturing strategy, while interacting with and supporting adjacent teams.
· Design 3D parts and assemblies using Creo Parametric consistent with tooling design standards while incorporating innovation
and continuous improvement
· Create and annotate 2D drawings of said parts and assemblies using Creo Parametric and AutoCAD consistent with tooling
design and machine shop standards
· Interact with Product Development team and tooling engineers to ensure manufacturability and compatibility of new tooling
designs
· Collaborate with NPD lab management to provide necessary designs for product quality fixtures for deployment to lab & plant
facilities
· Contribute to continuous improvement of design methodology and standards
· Assist NPD managers & engineers as required with various product family designs as needed.
Qualifications
Skills and Competencies
3D visualization and manipulation, CAD software feature familiarity, complex system interaction, high critical thinking, analytical &
problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to and recollection of fine detail, ability to communicate technical
concepts in a positive and professional manner, Office Suite familiarity
Education and/or Experience Requirements (Qualifications)
· Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Design, preferably with 1-2 years of mechanical design experience
· OR Associate’s technical degree with 5+ years experience in thermoforming tooling design/similar engineering discipline
· OR 7+ years in tooling design/engineering experience in thermoforming/molded fiber packaging
· 3 years of experience in 3D CAD Design software is required (Creo Parametric preferred, Solidworks, Inventor)
· 2 years of experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: (if applicable)
· Able to sit and use a computer in an office environment for 8+ hours
· Able to occasionally move around following all relevant safety procedures in a machine shop environment
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
