Bio-Techne Account Manager, Academic & Biotech Accounts in Berlin, Germany

The position will hold responsibility for developing and managing new/existing business in Academic throughout East and partially North Germany for all Bio-Techne brands starting ASAP, the position is field-based. By working closely with sales teams and marketing you will manage existing business and source new business throughout East Germany. In the position you will be expected to maintain a high level of market knowledge. The ideal candidate will have Capital Equipment sales experience, a life science background and live in the territory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for sales of all Bio-Techne products to Academic, Government and Biotech accounts in territory. Day to day responsibilities will involve planning regular travel to customer accounts in territory, effective follow up of sales leads, efficient management of the sales pipeline and prompt closure of consumable sales opportunities. Other duties will involve working closely with colleagues in other Bio-Techne sales teams, reporting back on on-going market conditions and occasionally supporting marketing at key exhibitions and conferences.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Ideally 2 Years proven experience in sales to the Life Sciences research sector.

• Minimum of a Bachelor level degree in a relevant scientific discipline. A research background with higher degree (M.Sc or PhD) is an advantage.

Skills required/desired:

• General business skills such as negotiation, strong organizational skills, problem solving and fact-based decision making. Demonstrable experience in addressing the German Life Science market (Academia) will be an advantage.

• Highly motivated with demonstrative interpersonal, presentation & organizational skills. Energetic, enthusiastic and hungry for success

• Able to work with a high degree of independence. A “self-starter”.

• Proficient in German and English languages (written and spoken) with demonstrably excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal interaction skills and demonstrable ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the Bio-Techne organisation

• Strong customer relationship skills. Skilled in anticipating and resolving issues

• Excellent attention to detail, time management and process management

• Strong interpersonal interaction skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues

• Proficient in the use of computer applications and software. Familiarity with MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM system advantageous.

• Able to perform a wide variety of tasks and multi-task efficiently plus excel in working in a fast-paced environment.
