Lockheed Martin Benefit Plans & Strategic Initiatives Lead Bethesda, Maryland

Description: Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Total Rewards team is seeking a self-driven, organized individual to manage key health plan vendors and wellness programs, support benchmarking and benefits strategy, and ensure health plan compliance. This role ensures contractual obligations are met, quality services are delivered, and operations align with regulations, to maximize plan and member value.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee all aspects of several key health plan vendors: strategy and plan design; contracting and renewals; day-to-day account management; plan performance, SLAs and utilization; escalations, root cause analysis, and mitigation; compliance with applicable laws; audits; financial/spend; communications.

• Oversee wellness program, including incentive activities and strategy: review utilization and opportunities for promotion, assess new strategies and integration points with other wellbeing programs, recommend improvements, resolve issues.

• Develop and monitor health plan key performance indicators (KPIs): work with health plan team, consultants and vendor partners to develop and monitor KPIs across various health, life and accident plans – in partnership with the benefits data analytics lead.

• Support benefits strategy: benchmarking and surveys; executive briefings; business requirements; RFI/RFPs; implementation and project management activities; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Support health plan compliance: in partnership with ERISA general council team (e.g., Transparency in Coverage RxDC reporting)

• Support health plan engagement and communication efforts: develop content, review/edit communications for technical accuracy, and recommend delivery methods.

• Participate in health plan merger and acquisition activity: responsibilities range from assessing benefit plans and costs to assisting with documentation and recommendations.

• Develop and foster positive working relationships with functional teams (e.g., HR, legal, finance, labor relations, tax, GSCO), external partners (e.g., vendors, consultants) and external business industry groups (e.g., Business Group on Health).

• 10% business travel

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience managing aspects of employee benefits (e.g., health plan operations, benefit design, regulatory landscape)

• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring health plan and prescription drug strategies

• Vendor management experience

• Project management experience

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, written and in presentations

• Ability to lead cross-functional teams successfully, set priorities and be well organized

• Strong analytical and research skills

• Proficiency with PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel

• Bachelors or Masters degree degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with aligned professional experience; considered an emerging authority.

• 10% business travel

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
