Position Information

Location: Binghamton, NY

Pay Range: $62,900 - $78,700

Schedule: Office; On-Site

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge in the updating/maintenance and analysis of the company's Geographic Information System's (GIS) data and processes. Also demonstrates a practical knowledge of the gas and the electric systems as well as a working knowledge of engineering and construction policies and procedures.

Major Roles and Responsibilities (Scope of work - range of responsibilities)

• Performs updates to the gas and/or electric Distribution and Transmission GIS models with oversight/assistance from a Lead Analyst. (20%)

• Assists with the verification of the accuracy of the SAP Master Data records and the work sketches received and assists with the resolution of discrepancies between SAP and the work sketches that are received, secures additional information from various departments to ensure accuracy of the GIS data. (20%)

• Performs quality control checks of the GIS models. (20%)

• Possesses an understanding of certain practices and procedures of other departments with regard to how they affect and relate to the GIS models. (20%)

• Performs simple analysis of various business systems using tools available through GIS. Assists with the designs of GIS models representing electric and gas distribution systems aiding in the analysis of complex forms of geospatial data. (20%)

Skills and Requirements:

Education & Experience Required:
• Associates degree in a CADD/GIS related field or 3 years' work related experience with concentration in GIS data analysis.

Skills/Abilities:
• Working knowledge of GIS systems.
• Ability to perform simple analysis of the GIS data and processes.
