Things You’ll Do
Sample, measure, test, and report on concrete and aggregates at the lab, jobsites, and batch plants.
Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, occasionally at heights, and possibly during night/weekend shifts.
Collaborate with Plant Operations to monitor aggregate moistures, concrete properties, and plant consistency.
Support Sales in resolving quality concerns and educating customers on concrete placement and finishing.
Input and report data on the QC lab database (LIMS).
Report issues to the QC manager promptly and adhere to safety procedures.
Assist the QC manager with in-house training and customer education classes.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public.
Work in a team environment and assist with other duties as required.
Maintain an insurable driving record.
Service, repair, and calibrate lab and field-testing equipment.
Requirements
Certifications : ACI Field Grade 1 required (or ability to pass within 6 months). Preferred: ACI Strength Testing Technician, WAQTC Concrete, WAQTC Aggregate.
Standards Knowledge : Familiarity with ACI 318, ASTM C94, ISPWC, ITD, and ASTM C33.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; working knowledge of Stonemont QC, Stonemont Mobile, Command Series, Command Batch, BCMI Material Pro, Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Experience : Idaho CDL with Transit-Mixer experience.
Physical Requirements : Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting up to 94 lbs. Frequent reaching, grabbing, pulling, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Education and/or Experience : Minimum high school diploma or GED; technical education preferred.
