The Precollegiate Development Program (PCDP) welcomes applications for lecturers to teach in one or more of our summer programs. This is a short-term, contract, lecturer appointment, which will provide instruction for credit bearing courses in one or more of the following programs:

Bridge Scholars Program: June 2nd-27th, 2025

  • Writing 1150 First-Year Writing & Rhetoric (1 section)

  • Lead 1000 Becoming a Leader (1 section)

Precollegiate Development Program: June 2nd-27th, 2025

  • ETHN 1000 Introduction to Ethnic Studies (1 section)

  • CMCI 1000 Special Introductory Topics in CMCI (1 section)

Partnership Outreach Program: June 8th-27th, 2025

  • ETHN 2000 Introduction to Ethnic Studies (1 Section)

Who We Are

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, which is part of Enrollment Management, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation and low-income students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programs.

These programs help support students academically and personally while in middle and high school and prepare them to transition successfully to postsecondary opportunities. Continue to provide support to students that choose to attend the University of Colorado Boulder.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Plan and create a course syllabus

  • Maintain and track student grades and provide final grades for each student

  • Attend required training and weekly staff meetings

  • Maintain active communication with director of the program and coordinators

  • Work with teaching assistants provided by PCDP

What You Should Know

  • Participants of our programs are primarily first-generation students thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our first-generation student population.

  • This position does require you to teach in-person, and as an employee of the university you will be required to abide by university policies.

  • This is a temporary appointment with the university as a lecturer and does not qualify for university benefits.

  • We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web-based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).

  • The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide, at no cost to the instructor, course materials and printing if requests are made two weeks in advance.

What We Can Offer

Compensation will be $7,010 per course.
