Job Description

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and the Regional HR Manager, the HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL:

  • Resolve employee-related issues with the support of the Regional HR Manager.

  • Oversee the sourcing and recruitment of hourly positions.

  • Conduct comprehensive onboarding for new hires.

  • Oversee Workday Time and Attendance.

  • Lead initiatives including recognition programs and social events to boost employee morale.

  • Facilitate leadership training to staff to enhance their skills and promote professional development and growth

  • Provide front-line support for employees regarding the benefits program.

  • Compile HR reports and analyze data for leaders.

  • Process leaves, including disability claims, and coordinate the Return-to-Work program.

  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of Company policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Support the execution of the plant’s strategies to meet business goals, providing feedback as necessary.

  • Make recommendations for improvements to policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Perform administrative tasks and maintain related employee records.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role within a fast-paced manufacturing plant.

  • 1-2 years of experience in timekeeping/payroll administration.

  • Experience working in a unionized facility.

  • Possession of or working towards a CHRP designation.

  • A college or university degree specializing in Human Resources.

  • Understanding of hourly payroll practices and benefits administration.

  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the Employment Standards Act in Ontario, Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

  • Ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment with rapid changes.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
