Principal Accountabilities:
Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance throughout the facility while working in a fast-paced environment around raw meat
Complete scheduled quantitative preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
Work independently and/or cooperatively with personnel of various departments to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control and process systems problems
Complete installation of new equipment
Operating forklifts and/or scissor lifts
Participate in meetings, training activities, and in the plant safety program
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties
Documenting completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary
Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions in a warm or cool environment, as well as slippery surfaces at varied heights
Standing for long periods of time, the use of stairs and ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas of the facility
Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment.
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
High School diploma or Equivalent
Basic use of a computer
Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
Pursuing or in possession of the Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician trade certification
Knowledge of motor control and troubleshooting
Experience with variable frequency drives and various type of sensors
Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations with absolute commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the grain industry or related food industries
Working experience with Modicon 984 and Quantum PLCs
Power distribution (600V, 12.47kV and 69kV) equipment installation and operation
Programming experience with ladder logic, function block, and structured text
Experience with PROFIBUS, MODBUS and MODBUS+, Ethernet, fiber optic and industrial wireless communications installations and troubleshooting
Knowledge and training in workplace electrical safety standards and arc flash hazards
Forklift certification
Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
