SUMMARY:

The Field Training Nurse Supervisor plays a key role in training, mentoring, and overseeing clinical staff while ensuring the smooth operation of medical programs. Develops and leads training programs for new clinical staff and provides ongoing in-service training and mentorship to existing staff. Evaluates nursing staff performance during training and provides constructive feedback.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

  • Develops and leads training programs for new clinical staff and provides ongoing in-service training and mentorship to existing staff.Evaluates nursing staff performance during training and provides constructive feedback.

  • Trains staff on clinical, administrative, pharmacy, and medical support services.Offers ongoing mentorship to nurses and provides support in areas of clinical practice, patient interaction and professional development.

  • Develops and enforces healthcare policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Ensures all staff maintain required licenses, certifications, and insurance.

  • Implements quality assurance and improvement initiatives.Supports accreditation efforts by ensuring efficient and compliant medical services.

  • Oversees internal reviews to ensure compliance with policies and standards.Prepares and maintains reports, records, and operational logs.

  • Analyzes healthcare and budget data to identify trends and advises leadership.Assists in managing the healthcare budget and controlling costs.

  • Maintains strong working relationships with facility staff, nursing teams, contract providers, and external agencies.

  • Monitors safety protocols for staff and inmates/residents.Reports and responds to safety incidents and emergencies timely.

  • Domestic U. S. travel is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Nursing diploma or degree is required.

  • Two years of Nursing experience, including one year of supervisory experience is required.

  • Must possess an active LPN or RN license in the state of employment.

  • Understanding of correctional healthcare operations, facility regulations, and healthcare management principles is preferred.

  • Must demonstrate strong problem-solving, data analysis, decision-making, communication and focus skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications is required.
