Transportation Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and planning transportation projects, analyzing traffic data, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to create sustainable and effective transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for roads, highways, bridges, railways, and transit systems.

• Evaluate traffic patterns and data to improve flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.

• Prepare detailed project plans, including cost estimates, timelines, and resource requirements.

• Ensure all designs and plans adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.

• Identify and address transportation issues, such as road capacity or infrastructure deterioration, with creative and effective solutions.

• Work closely with urban planners, teams, environmental scientists, and government agencies.

• Focus on environmentally friendly transportation solutions, like promoting public transit or reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

• Communicate with stakeholders and communities to address transportation concerns and gather feedback.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

• Minimum of two years’ experience in transportation engineering.

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.

• Proficiency in using MicroStation InRoads/Open Roads is a plus.

• Proficiency in HEC-RAS and HY-8 is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
