SWCA Environmental Consultants is actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineer  - Project Manager (HR Title = Senior Civil Engineer) to join our team based in Pittsburgh, PA. We are in search of a highly skilled Civil Engineer who excels in civil site design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and possesses robust project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering projects, guiding junior staff, and actively participating in business development initiatives. Collaboration with various disciplines and stakeholders, including CAD designers, GIS analysts, environmental biologists, regulatory agencies, municipalities, and clients, will be integral to the success of this role. This is a full-time benefited role offering the flexibility for hybrid/remote work arrangements within Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. What you will accomplish

Take charge of engineering design processes and oversee the development of precise construction drawings, ensuring adherence to project specifications and regulatory standards. Provide essential support to regional SWCA offices by addressing engineering requirements and collaborating closely with teams to deliver effective solutions tailored to local contexts. Collaborate with engineering teams across SWCA offices to optimize workload distribution, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budgetary constraints while upholding quality standards. Conduct thorough technical reviews of project deliverables to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards. Actively contribute to Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes to uphold the highest levels of project integrity. Demonstrate the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments by effectively managing multiple tasks, collaborating with project managers, and adapting to evolving project requirements while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality standards. Drive compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safety. Proactively identify opportunities for business growth by fostering both existing and new client relationships. Participate in professional networking groups and leverage collaboration with other SWCA offices to identify and pursue prospects for continued success. Experience and qualifications for success

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Pennsylvania, or the ability to obtain via reciprocity, demonstrating a strong understanding of state-specific regulations and requirements. Proven prior work experience in one or more of the following states: Ohio, West Virginia, and New York, showcasing familiarity with regional environmental conditions and regulatory frameworks. Must have flexibility to travel, including short-term overnight stays, to various project sites and client meetings as required. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience exceeding 10 years in civil engineering, with a specialization in civil/stormwater design, showcasing advanced technical expertise and industry knowledge. Additional Professional Engineer (PE) License in surrounding Pennsylvania states, demonstrating an expanded scope of expertise and the ability to navigate varying regulatory landscapes effectively. D monstrated prior experience in supporting the development of proposals, business development initiatives, and client management, highlighting strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships for continued business growth and success. An employee in this Pittsburgh, PA-based position can expect a salary of $112,320.00 to $143,520.00/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
