Armed Security Officer - Full Time

Location: Brighton, CO

Rate: $25.00/HR

Shift: Mon - Fri: 7AM - 3PM

Securitas plays an essential role for our clients and in society. The Armed Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Armed Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client's employees and customers and serve as a physical deterrent.

Our highly sought after Armed Security officer positions include full training. If you have experience in security, law enforcement or military you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.

Job Duties:

  • Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.

  • Responding to emergency situations where rapid and effective judgment, appropriate escalation and use of force is required.

  • Working directly with law enforcement, government staffing and the community.

  • Writing detailed incident reports on unauthorized entries, suspicious activity, emergency situations, and any other observed issues.

  • Security screening all persons coming through the public entrance to ensure prohibited items are not entering facilities.

  • Monitors surveillance cameras.

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Security Officers.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for an armed position

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Must have Armed Security experience

  • Must pass pre-hire testing assignment and shooting qualification

  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English

  • Must be able to provide the office with a reliable phone number where the officer can be reached at all times (i.e. cellular)

  • Standard computer / technology skills needed - The ability to utilize a tablet, computer, or smartphone

  • Must have previous armed/military experience

  • Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic

  • Must have a strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal / written communication

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus

  • Customer service background preferred

  • Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner

  • Must be able to conduct patrols throughout shift

  • Must have great attention to detail

  • Must be comfortable conducting access control duties
