Yeshiva University Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Simula in Bronx, New York

Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant Studies Program at the Katz School of Science and Health is seeking a full-time faculty member to work in our PA program. Responsibilities include development of course syllabi; instruction, mentorship, and remediation of didactic and clinical year students; evaluation of course success and student learning outcomes; student recruitment and retention; and University, School, and Departmental committee service.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and write syllabi for coursework taught in the didactic phase of the Katz School's PA Program.
  • Teach didactic and clinical year students, in both lectures and laboratories.
  • Teach current clinical medicine gold standard practices.
  • Provide remediation instruction to ensure student success.
  • Advise students in both the didactic and clinical years of education.
  • Collaborate with members of the Katz PA faculty and the University faculty.
  • Participate in student recruitment events and retention initiatives.
  • Participate in ARC-PA program assessment and accreditation-related projects

As Simulation Director:

  • Supporting the technological aspects of realistic, highly complex clinical patient care scenarios using simulation hardware and software
  • Implementing simulation scenarios in collaboration with PA program faculty
  • Participating in the documentation of student performance and assessment of critical problem solving, interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
  • Ensuring simulation, clinical skills, anatomy, and physical diagnosis laboratory equipment and supplies are well maintained and in working order
  • Collaborating with members of the Katz PA faculty and the University faculty.
  • Participating in student recruitment events and retention initiatives.
  • Participating in ARC-PA program assessment and accreditation-related projects
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:

If a Physician Assistant, a Masters degree is required, as well as:

  • Current PA national certification (candidate is required to maintain certification throughout employment).
  • Eligibility for licensure in NYS.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience.
  • Higher education teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience as clinical preceptor preferred.

If a Physician, current eligibility or unrestricted license as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in NYS is required, as well as:

  • Certification by an ABM or AOA approved specialty board.
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience.
  • Experience as clinical preceptor preferred.

If a Pharmacist, a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required, as well as:

  • Residency, fellowship, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching experience at graduate level in pharmaceutical science is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of current clinical experience.

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $135,000
