Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for an organization in the Brookfield, WI area. The successful candidate will carry out a broad spectrum of accounting tasks, aiding in the accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring schedules run smoothly. Key responsibilities include, among others, handling accounts payable and receivable, processing transactions, and tackling payroll functions. This role is ideal for candidates with excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, cash flow schedules, account balancing, and other accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Process and manage accounts payable and receivable duties; verify and reconcile invoices, handle expense reports, and follow up on any discrepancies.

• Responsible for payroll support functions including the processing and review of payroll, managing the payroll system, ensuring all employees are paid on time, and resolving encountered payroll issues.

• Provide administrative support to the accounting department by filing documents, handling correspondence, maintaining records, and executing other related tasks.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures including the preparation of audit schedules, tax reports, and others.

• Provide support for budget preparation and financial planning.

• Enter financial transactions into appropriate software programs and databases.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to improve financial processes and systems.

• Support tax audits and tax returns preparation as needed.

• Analyze, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.

• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

• Maintain confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or a similar role in Finance and Accounting.

• Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Capable of preparing and maintaining journal entries.

• Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail.

• Exceptional analytical skills to interpret and analyze financial data.

• Proficient in using financial software and databases.

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
