The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

A role in External Financial Reporting calls on your skills in quality financial reporting, technical accounting, and strong aptitude to provide thoughtful and responsive support to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.

As a Senior Manager in External Financial Reporting, you will be a leader on a team that builds strong partnerships across the business and with external partners, to provide guidance on technical accounting and ensure quality external financial reporting.  You will have a key role in evaluating new business initiatives and advising senior management on accounting requirements, policies and disclosure matters. Additionally, you will oversee accounting for share-based compensation and equity, including review of monthly financial close activities, analytics, forecasts, and key internal reporting.

About you:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting

  • 6-8 years related experience(public accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting)

  • CPA

  • Deep knowledge of the requirements of GAAP accounting standards and SOX

  • Strong relationship building, professional judgment, and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to lead projects independently and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Experience with process improvement and automation

  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude translating accounting guidance into practical business advice

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
