We are looking for:

The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall safety and compliance of our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tactical safety programs to support the GBU’s Safety Strategy. The Safety Engineer will collaborate with sites and corporate functions to develop the GBU safety culture. It will be necessary to conduct training sessions, make periodic site visits and monitor adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Development:

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that align with industry standards and regulations.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Training and Education:

  • Coordinate HSE training across the GBU.

  • Identify and propagate best practice in training.

  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees, emphasizing best practices and regulatory compliance.

  • Support Incident Investigation:

  • Provide on-site support for incident investigation, but only where needed.

  • Track root cause and corrective actions for major incidents to ensure completion.

  • Ensure Lessons Learned bulletins are shared and actions implemented at other sites and functions to prevent repeat incidents across the GBU.

  • Safety Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices.

  • Long-Term HSE strategy

  • Inform and support long-term HSE strategy (3-5 years).

  • Provide analysis of GBU-wide safety performance identifying trends and underlying root causes.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Corporate and cross-functional teams to ensure good, positive alignment of projects and priorities.

  • Where needed, supply HSE-focused communication materials for wider dissemination.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health and

  • Safety, or related field. 5 years of experience in safety engineering or a related role.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional,

  • Occupational Health and Safety Technician) are a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
