Independent Health IT Financial Analyst-Senior in Buffalo, New York

Overview

The IT Financial Analyst-Senior shall be responsible for the development, execution and oversight of daily financial operational activities related to the hardware, software and capital budgets within the information technology department and shall assist the CIO, as needed. Duties shall include developing and monitoring policies and processes around procurement of hardware and software to align with company policies, procedures, and internal controls as they pertain to financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in accounting, finance or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. An additional two (2) years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Three (3) years of experience in finance required.

  • Experience creating, analyzing, and maintaining management reporting, forecasts, financial justification, and budgets.

  • Exposure to cloud computing, budgeting, accounts and reporting preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and make decisions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers at all levels.

  • Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate resolutions.

  • Proficient PC Skills in windows environment; Microsoft Office experience with Excel proficiency preferred.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Maintain an awareness of technology and healthcare industry trends and best practices to contribute ideas and efforts to the achievement of high-quality service delivery.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to improve corporate process for procurement, inventory management, and vendor contracts.

  • Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate production of financial reports and related ancillary processes.

  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to internal and external customers as required.

  • Manage all hardware, software, and capital budgets for IT through collaboration with IT management.

  • Support IT Management and CIO in the financial justification of capital and administrative expense items, as well as technology projects.

  • Ensure all project related expenses are transitioned to IT budgets as appropriate through collaboration with Finance, Business Owners, Project/Program Managers.

  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of amortized expense including monthly reforecast in clarity budget tool.

  • Monitor and manage IT controls for procurement, budgets, and contracts; continually look for means to improve efficiency and reporting, and to effectively maintain contract relationships.

  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for reviewing, validating and paying vendor invoices.

  • Establish controls and audit processes to ensure accuracy of payments to vendors.

  • Research and analyze financial information to identify and quickly resolve discrepancies.

  • Follow Independent Health’s standard policies and procedures for processing invoices for payment.

  • Track progress to plan monthly and report information to management and other internal resources as required. Identify and analyze variances to recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness and productivity within the department.

  • Design, develop and maintain financial reports to support department decision making.

  • Create models for financial reports and analyses to minimize the effort associated with frequent processes.

  • Prepare a quarterly review package, suitable for IT management and Independent Health executive management, reconciling all hardware, software, IT capital against budget.

Hiring Compensation Range: $27.00 - $37.00 hourly

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
