PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Analyst Project Planning - Hydrogen Locomotive will play a crucial role in supporting projects for Rail Technology by sourcing and procuring all necessary materials and components required for the production of state-of-the-art hydrogen locomotives. This position involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials that meet our stringent sustainability standards.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to understand project requirements and ensure procurement strategies align with project goals

  • Develop and manage purchase requisitions, RFPs/RFQs, evaluate proposals, negotiate prices, and manage supplier relationships

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, innovations, and regulations related to fueling infrastructure and energy procurement

  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with agreements and quality standards

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function

  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, market analysis, and supplier performance to management

  • Train, qualify and maintain a firm understanding of railroad operations safety

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards throughout the procurement process

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project / materials management, specifically in sourcing and managing suppliers for transportation and/or infrastructure projects. Experience in the energy sector or fueling infrastructure is highly advantageous

  • Strong negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in ERP systems preferably SAP and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to understand market dynamics and legal regulations in the railway and technology sector

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Commitment to sustainability and understanding of sustainable procurement principles
