The Work

The Radar Modeling and Simulation team within Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of high performance radar modeling and simulation systems. The successful candidate will have strong analytic and communication skills, and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.

The Sr. Software Engineer working on the Radar Modeling and Simulation team will:

• Perform in an agile fast paced environment applying advanced technologies, software architecture, design, verification, validation, scientific principles, and concepts to develop revolutionary radar modeling and simulation products

• Participate in the full life cycle development of customer critical radar digital twins, simulation and modeling software products

• Participate on an agile scrum team to design, implement, and integrate Hi-Fidelity and Lo-Fidelity radar software models and simulations to assess radar system performance

• Participate in agile scrum team activities to include a daily scrum, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives and process improvements.

• Provide guidance and ensure team is committed to best software and system engineering practices

• Conduct system verification and support model certification activities

• Represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, government lab partners, program and senior leadership, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant technical matters

• Providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline assistance, tooling expertise, and direction

• Automating repeatable tasks through the use of scripting languages and development of automated regression testing and unit testing modules

• Mentor early career engineers in the systems and software engineering activities required to deliver products to stakeholders and customers alike.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or related STEM degree with minimum 5 years' related experience.

• High proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented computing language, Matlab, and, scripting languages.

• Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas: systems engineering, software engineering and system analysis, requirements development, verification and validation, trade studies, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.

• Strong customer focus with proven ability to drive complex technical issues/challenges to closure.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.

• Strong mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis and signal processing.

• Functional knowledge of Radar systems, subsystems and designs with familiarity of design tools for radar modeling.

• Radar systems development experience including algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.

• Technical leadership experience with program execution.

• Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
