Description:
Pharmacist will have oversight of Diley Ridge Medical Center responsibility to include dispensing pharmaceuticals for ED, Inpatient, Inpatients; prepare admixture medications as necessary; drug information resource; operational optimization and enhancement; quality and safety review and improvement; ensure Joint commission compliance, DEA Compliance, and Board of Pharmacy compliance, order review; and other tasks as assigned.
Position Purpose:
Lead Pharmacist, in accordance with the Ohio Pharmacy Practice Act, under the supervision of the regional manager and in alignment with Mount Carmel Regional Pharmacy priorities, attends management meetings and work on effective and efficient processes, work-flows, and training of staff to enhance the level of care management provided to our patients
What we are looking for:
Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required; board certification and/or residency training preferred
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.

Experience: 2 - 4 years clinical experience

What you will do:
Coordinates the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medication as appropriate in compliance with state and federal regulations and laws, accreditation standards, and departmental policies and procedures; directs and assists pharmacy support staff.
Maintains personal compliance and assists in maintenance of departmental compliance with continuous regulatory readiness. Also maintains records related to the transactions of the pharmacy, to achieve adequate control and accountability for all drugs, including controlled substances.
Assists in the management of pharmacy inventory by providing information to pharmacy purchasing, removing expired contaminated or deteriorated stock when detected, helping maintain perpetual inventories, and processing non-formulary requests.
Interprets, evaluates and verifies all medication orders.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in order to assure optimal and cost effective drug therapy. This includes adjusting drug dosing and schedules, recommending the most efficacious therapy, practicing stewardship in antibiotics, performing drug consults and monitoring, and detecting possible adverse drug reactions, food/drug interactions, drug/drug interactions, and allergic cross reactivity.
