City of Cape May, NJ seeks a full-time Tax Assessor.

Applicants must have the ability to assess taxes, appraisal of property values, compile sales and commercial activity reports and oversee tax-exempt applications. Applicants must also defend appealed assessments, including giving testimony before the County Tax Board and State Tax Court. In addition, applicants must have excellent customer service skills for handling public complaints and fieldwork during occasional inspections.

• Must be knowledgeable with the New Jerseys Assessors Handbook.
• Must be a Licensed Certified Tax Assessor or have the ability to obtain within a year.
• Must have a Valid NJ Divers License to be considered for the position.
