JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Dickinson Law in Carlisle, PA is seeking an experienced, dedicated Social Work Supervisor for a part-time opening in its Children’s Advocacy Clinic for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. The Social Work Supervisor will collaborate with clinical law faculty in the supervision and teaching of graduate social work and law students involved in representing child clients within the juvenile court system. This opening calls for 10 hours per week.

Job Duties

  • Contact with local graduate social work programs to recruit students for field placements.

  • Participating in interdisciplinary clinic class seminar.

  • Supervision of graduate students

  • Accompanying students on home visits.

  • School meetings and team meetings.

  • Providing direct service case coverage with clients when necessary.

  • Being available to provide case support and direction to both law and social work students and provide transportation on occasion.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work degree from an accredited school of social work.

  • PA license for social work (LSW).

  • 3+ years of experience working in the child welfare system.

  • Supervisory and/or teaching experience.

  • Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.

  • Employment with the University for this opening will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
