Employment Hours:The work schedule is flexible; however, the primary working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be required as needed.

Position Overview:Lifehouse seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The CFO will report directly to the Executive Director and play a crucial role in overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting our mission-driven initiatives as a member of the executive team. The ideal candidate will have a solid financial management background, strategic planning, and non-profit operations. They will demonstrate a passion for mental health advocacy, a commitment to positively impacting the community, and the utmost integrity in managing resources and relationships. We seek a leader who approaches every aspect of their work with honesty and ethical rigor, ensuring that our financial practices reflect the high standards to which we hold our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management: Develop and implement sound financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and optimize financial performance. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting processes to support organizational goals.
  2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop strategic plans and initiatives that align with Lifehouse's mission and vision. Provide financial analysis and insights to inform decision-making and drive growth strategies.
  3. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and reporting obligations. Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including internal controls and audits, to maintain the organization's financial integrity.
  4. Funding and Grants Support: Collaborate with resource development staff to provide financial records, projections, and strategic guidance for grant proposals and fundraising efforts. Assist in preparing grant budgets, financial reports, and donor presentations to secure funding for programs and initiatives. Maintain strong relationships with funding partners and stakeholders to support sustainability and expansion.
  5. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development. Provide guidance and support to departmental managers on financial matters and strategic initiat ves.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Lifehouse to external stakeholders, including donors, funding agencies, government officials, and community partners. Cultivate relationships and partnerships to advance the organization's mission and visibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least two years in a leadership role within a non-profit organization, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, budget management, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and commitment to Lifehouse's mission.
