After Sales Technician II

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, the After Sales Technician II will work closely with the Final-Assembly/EOL, Post-Assembly, and Product Experience (PX) teams to care for client vehicles in need of varying levels of service and repair. This role is responsible for conducting PDIs, training and educating other Technicians, facilitating the warranty reporting process, diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, installing vehicle updates and customer upgrades, performing routine service, and supporting Singer events such as component testing and client interactions in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

This is a fast-paced and exciting role which requires consistent high-level of performance and quality with strong emphasis on and value for customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Performs Porsche/Singer vehicle maintenance services as specified

  • Conducts Pre-Delivery Inspections and is a subject matter expert on the entire PDI process

  • Partners with and supports all Singer Engineering teams to provide feedback, assistance, and support on all prototype and production vehicles

  • Supports Singer production teams with training and education, both new hires and existing team members

  • Provides support to Engineering on work instructions and build process updates

  • Identifies and diagnoses customer concerns per manufacturers specification and guidelines

  • Documents cause of failure and correction to satisfy customers understanding

  • Uses diagnostic tools to test vehicle systems

  • Performs thorough inspection of customer's vehicle, reporting all required repairs and preventive maintenance

  • Performs tear downs, repairs, and upgrades to vehicles

  • Assembles vehicle components such as suspension, brakes, interior parts and panels, powertrain installation and removal, mounting and balancing tires

  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical faults with confidence

  • Performs quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer

  • Road tests and validates repairs, services, or upgrades

  • Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals

  • Liaises with Product Experience team and Singer’s global partner network to assist in remote diagnosing and repairs of vehicles in the field

  • Travels to support on location vehicle repairs, customer events, and vehicle development as required

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Six (6) plus years of professional work experience

  • Experience with professional automotive, motorsport, or high-end restoration

  • Experience with engine and body control systems, data acquisition, hardware, and software tools

  • Ability to handle, repair and work around delicate cars and components

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in driving a manual transmission vehicle

Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification and/or technical automotive program graduate

  • Prior experience or familiarity with Porsche vehicles (early models)

  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment

  • ASE certification preferred

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm with overtime as needed.

Compensation

The starting pay range for this position is between $36.00 - $40.00 per hour . Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Must be able to travel both internationally and domestic as required

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods

  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move with up to 10 lbs. of force

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. regularly with occasional lifting of 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to continuously perform repetitive tasks and possess manual dexterity

  • Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments throughout all seasons

  • Must be able to work an early, non-standard schedule and work overtime when needed

  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE to protect against exposure to exhaust gases and noise

  • Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy
