Position Overview

Lead the preparation and service of high-quality meals while maintaining excellent kitchen standards and training new team members. You'll play a key role in ensuring resident satisfaction through outstanding food service.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily cooking schedules to ensure timely meal preparation
  • Gather ingredients and supplies from storage areas efficiently
  • Prepare diverse menu items including meats, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, and desserts following standardized recipes
  • Ensure proper seasoning and cooking through consistent taste testing and quality control
  • Present food attractively for dining room service and special functions
  • Monitor and maintain food availability during service periods
  • Keep cooking areas clean and organized according to sanitation procedures
  • Properly store and label leftover food items
  • Prepare special function meals according to production sheets
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff
  • Ensure team compliance with department standards (uniforms, attendance, service, safety)

Qualifications

  • 3 years cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and training abilities
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Team-oriented mindset

Job Type: Part-time and Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
