Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all the labor management and operational activities across a 3-shift operation. These operational activities include the day-to-day supervision of the shift leads and their teams ensuring the efficient receipt, material handling, storage, value-adding servicing, inventory control, and dispatch of a wide variety of products. This position is also responsible for assisting with project management for continuous improvement activities associated with materials management and warehousing activities. In addition, this position assures that all manufacturing plant activities that rely on the support of the warehouse are satisfied both internal to the plant and external at the numerous co-packers. This position oversees 70% of the building space and influences cost management across 2/3rds of the total spend (inventory and packaging materials). Also greatly impacts indirect labor spend/utilization due to number of lift drivers needed to support the business.

What You'll Do:

• Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees and driving engagement. Improves warehouse results by coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

• Part of site leadership team who strategically manages receiving, warehousing, and distribution functions by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Help to create, refine, and/or make changes to SOPs for process and quality improvements as needed

• Oversees and maintains physical condition of warehouse, inventory, and equipment by planning and implementing new design layouts ensuring efficient space utilization; inspecting equipment; issuing work, and implementing process improvement initiatives

• Achieves financial objectives by adhering to annual budget for their area; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

• System expert who trains others in technical knowledge of systems (JDE, AS400, WM)

• Safety, Quality, and ownership of inventory and warehouse processes

What You'll Bring To BIC:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of Warehousing experience in a leadership role.

• Previous warehouse experience and training in continuous improvement methodologies

• People leadership skills

• Highly proficient in technology platforms including excel, JDE, WM, and other warehouse systems

• Prior experience driving improvements in a warehouse environment. Basic logistic understanding. Greater business acumen as well with total supply chain understanding
